Swiftstar stared at Firestreak, shock clouding his eyes. Too early! His mind screeched at him. Too early! But he knew what he had to do. He leaped at her with all the strength in his body, drawing power from the very marrow of his bones. The resulting speed was unimaginable. Nothing could react, his speed was his greatest strength, and his greatest speed was godlike. A fly watched, unable to blink from it's perch before he connected. However, there was a reason he never used this speed. It left him completely open. He knew she would not pass up this chance someone like her would pass up this opportunity. But she would not hurt Sootpaw. And he would not die alone. Firestreak was going down.

You asked for it, Firestreak thought mockingly as she saw Swiftstar get into position to leap. However, she did not anticipate his blinding speed. Her claws barely managed to scrape the apprentice before she had the breath knocked out of her, causing her to stagger backwards a few steps.
"What in StarClan?!" She cursed under her breath, regretting that she hadn't figured out the speed with which Swiftstar would attack. His name is Swiftstar. How did I not see this coming? Hating herself for such a foolish mistake, she shook it off, then prepared to fight.
Her muscles rippled under her soaked, ragged pelt, obvious beneath her rain-slicked fur. She growled low in her throat, circling Swiftstar intensly. "I thought that maybe you deserved to at least get a chance to fight," Firestreak began, her breath having returned quickly. "But I guess I'll just have to stick to killing you right away."
She took a quick step forward, then sidestepped left, and lunged forward to her right. It was a simple enough deke, but usually worked well on smaller opponents. Swiftstar may have been ffast, but Firestreak had more muscle and was willing to kill. The WindClan leader, on the other hand, would likely be nervous to take a life before his petrified apprentice.
For the moment, it seemed that Firestreak had the upper paw.

OOC: Awwwwwwwwwww, I really don't want Swiftstar to die! I've become attached. Swiftstar turned around, following Firestreak with his eyes. He dug his claws into the ground, knowing the move would give him heightened agility, and speed. He rarely used it though, as he didn't like to use all his best moves in a fight, or run the risk of exhausting them. But he was going to die in this battle. He was pulling out all the stops. He suddenly leaped at her throat. He knew she had probably not expected him to be this reckless. Now, this move allowed him to harness this amazing speed at a close range. He waited for his death, although he still entertained a small, puny hope, that he had to be prepared to die, and not to die. But he didn't think about that now. He just moved, showing off the battle demon no cat ever saw, the speed that had earned him the name Swiftstar.

So you wanna play tough, eh? With unnatural strength, the brutal Firestreak shoved her leaping opponent to the side, barely feeling it as she lowered her paw. Perhaps he can feel his death near, she mused, enjoying that she was currently winning. In that case, he'll be fighting all out. Firestreak narrowed her reddish eyes, focusing once again on her target.
She began to circle Swiftstar, powerful muscles rippling, large paws on edge, ready to fight. She took a threatening step in, then returned to her circular pattern, every few seconds moving in closer.
With a confident yowl, she tackled Swiftstar, her large weight no match for his tiny frame. Bloodthirsty jaws snapped at his face, missing by mere millimeters the first few bites. Then, she caught on, her sharp teeth latching into his scruff and puncturing his flesh. Blood flowed from the wound into her salavating mouth as she savoured the warmth gushing into her.
She decided one way to at least somewhat gross out the leader and give herself another chance to strike would be to actually swallow the blood. She did, and relished the heat as it seared down her throat. With a smirk, Firestreak released her jaws, but kept all of her weight firmly atop Swiftstar.
"Had enough yet?"

Swiftstar felt teeth sinking into his scruff, and turned his head just in time to see Firestreak swallow the blood. This, however, had the opposite effect than what she intended. Swiftstar struck in the second she did so, teeth grasping onto her throat. He twisted his body, powerful legs jumping up, with enough strength to lift some cat much larger than Firestreak. The words she said came out choked, and he knew she had miscalculated; she had underestimated Swiftstar. Her only fate was death. He bit down hard on her throat, not letting go. He would not let go. He knew she would rake his belly with powerful claws giving him fatal wounds. He knew he would die, and she would die with him, and Sootpaw would live. He looked at Sootpaw, never relinquishing his hold, and sent him a message with his eyes he could just feel he would receive. I may lose one life. I may lose more. But I will not let you die.

Firestreak let out a furious screech, though it sounded more like a walrus. How could she have underestimated him, again?! Pain began to trickle out from her neck, numbing her chest and shoulders. However, she would not give up.
If she died, Swiftstar was going with her.
With surprising speed and unmatched strength, all four paws flailed wildly, catching the smaller cat at every angle possible. She sliced open his exposed belly, reaching deep down and feeling the blood squish between her toes. Pushing down a shudder, she kept going.
Soon, her claws found Swiftstar's throat. Firestreak laughed, coughing up blood as she did so. As forcefully as she could, the big feline slammed her paw into the side of his head, then raked her claws down, across his neck, and finally to the shoulder. She tore at a ligament, and with a triumphant grunt she sliced through it.
Try that one on for size, you freakishly fast little worm!
No matter what he would throw at her, she would bring it right back to him. With ginger fur now stained red with blood, both her own and that of her opponent, Firestreak got her jaws moving again. She was like the Energizer bunny. She would never stop until her death finally came. Even though blood shot it's way back up her throat, projecting out across the battelfield, and even though she was torn up and should have already been lying still in a pool of death, she was still alive and kicking, literally.
How to stop her? Simple. Snap her neck and take off her head. But to do that, you needed to have the perfect angle. And to get that, you had to die. OOC: I think I'm out of Firestreak muse. Should they both just die next post? It'll be easier. Maybe Swiftstar is down to his final life and then, while his back is broken and she thinks she's won, he manages to get a killing bite on her? Your choice; I'm just spitting out ideas
