Hawkstorm looked down at Amberclaw, helpless after Pebblestar's crushing blow. (OOC: I think) IC: She lifted a paw and swung it down, effectively knocking it out. She turned and started to walk away, but her legs gave out. It had been a hard battle. Frankly, she was lucky to be alive, much less able to stand. She staggered to her feet and tried again, until she reached a tree which she then proceeded to lean against, panting. She would rest here a bit. She then smiled slightly and raised her head to the sky. Pebblestar had come. To her, it was a proof that they shared a bond even deeper than the normal one between mentor and apprentice. There was no way in Starclan for Pebblestar to have known she was in trouble, and yet, somehow, she had. And she had come, and saved her. *** Swiftstar burst into the Thunderclan camp. He looked around, noticing everything. He saw Pebblestar beating up cats left and right, and he saw Cougarpelt, as well as Hawkstorm panting by the tree. Then he saw the horrific site of the cats and the tree. What a spectacularly brave apprentice. He ran over and clawed at the tree, before heaving it up. He managed to make it roll up and over, but he couldn't quite bring himself to look at the poor apprentice's leg and tail. "Silvermist!" he called, resolving to watch over this cat when he was in Starclan. OOC: Now might be a good time for Firestreak to come in. And I'm sorry it's short, but I'm so sleepy... Still sick

OOC: In that case, enter the evil being > IC: Scarletpaw felt the pawsteps approaching. She knew somebody was on their way. Yet, somehow, she didn't care.
In a few moments, however, her curiosity peaked.
Something felt different when the new cat, whoever it was, had approached. She wasn't quite sure what, but she knew that with the cat had come a change of scenery. She turned her head to see who it was that had approached, and noticed the enormous tree that had been crushing her rear end just moments before had miraculously rolled away. Oh, she thought gratefully, I guess he just lifted a tree of my hiney. Cool.
With a tremendous effort, she snaked her head forward slightly, parting her jaws to speak. "Thank you," the apprentice managed to mumble. Her efforts were worthless, though, for a new figure had joined them. It was a cat Scarletpaw knew well, and feared desperately.
Firestreak.
///
Where has that mangy furball gotten to? Firestreak wondered as she trampled thick undergrowth, all senses alert. Nothing stirred around her, save for the rapid lightning and loud thunder that raged on above her.
She was supposed to be in WindClan, fighting the rabbit-loving fools over there. But then again, her target was supposed to be in WindClan fighting against Firestreak and her Clan. I guess that means I'll be off the hook for leaving my destination, she mused simply.
Suddenly, her vision fogged up, and an uncomfortable tingle ran across her face. Firestreak had been focused on her surroundings, so focused that she hadn't noticed the low-hanging tree branch that was right in front of her face.
Muttering curses and clawing irritably at the branch, Firestreak kept stumbling forward. For a second she paused to investigate the small trickle of blood that had reached her nose, licking at it feverishly, but stopped mid-lick. She stood in the shadows, and before her stood her target, along with a few other cats.
Swiftstar.
A murderous glint appeared suddenly in Firestreak's eyes as she stepped into the small clearing. A burnt log lay a few tails lengths to her right, and Scarletpaw less than one to her left, but the heartless she-cat already had her eyes set on a mark. She would deal with the broken apprentice later.
Firestreak took two loud steps forward, her heart pounding a little bit faster with each step she took. Soon, she was close enough to smell his vile WindClan scent. It both sickened the beastly cat, and gave her excited chills. It was like the taste of blood. Sickly, but easy to desire more and more of.
"Oh, Swiftstar," she chided, her rough voice oddly collected and calm. "What shall I do with you? A quick but painful death, nine times over? Or perhaps a bit of fun first?" Firestreak herself shivered ever so slightly at the thought. Even her grim, twisted mind wasn't demented enough to wholly enjoy every image that flashed through her mind. Sick, cruel ways of torture engulfed her for a moment, and she dreamt up the perfect way to deal with the pest standing before her.
He may have had nine lives, but she had brute strength and a spirit of pure, devoted evil.

OOC: Now, all we need is Sootpaw, so Swiftstar can die defending him. He he he. This is fun! I missed rping. Anyways, Swiftstar won't go down without a fight. IC: Swiftstar turned slowly to look at Firestreak. "Big words," he said softly. "Did you forget? I've never lost." He moved subtly so as to cover Sootpaw, his only weak point. He didn't add the unspoken words. So it's you who will kill me. I wouldn't want it any other way. I won't die alone. I will kill you with me! With this new determination he faced Firestreak. Swiftstar bunched his muscles and glared, his tail lashing angrily. He threatened her, and waited for her to make the first move. Normally, in a situation like this, he would use the surprise of his speed to take her down. But now, he couldn't risk exposing Sootpaw to her. I guess that I haven't quite resigned myself to death yet... He thought, rather miserably.
***
Hawkstorm saw the battle, and decided to help the poor she-cat. She had too many bad memories of cats being crushed to death to let it happen right in front of her. Seeing one's parents die in front of one, especially when that one was only 3 moons old, was a scar that would likely never heal. She limped over to the she-cat, noticeably favoring the side Amberclaw had wounded. She grabbed the scruff of the she-cat and dragged her a few feet, then stopped, panting, and did it again. "I'm sorry," she whispered. "This will hurt a lot. But it could save your life. I hope Swiftstar is okay," she continued, looking up. "He seems resigned, and I worry." She pulled some more. It took quite some time, but she made it to the medicine cat's den. She managed to call out, "Silvermist," once, before she collapsed, dead unconscious.

OOC: Wow, Punky's missed alot, erm, I'll just post from where i left off k?
Hazelwing cried out, the other she-cat was trapped in front of her, under a tree. She yelped, hoping to catch the attention of a stronger cat, she was little, not as tiny as their leader, but still very small. Her life had been saved by a Shadowclan cat, and she was in the other cat's debt, no matter how you looked at it. Hazelwing's eyes softened a little and shouldered the big log several times, her shoulder made sickening thwacks as she tried to foll it off of the other cat. She stopped and the dastardly log lifted off the other apprentice. She was about to thank whoever did the deed, then stopped frozen. Firestreak was back. instantly she shot to wards Silvermist's den, only to see a collapsed Hawkstorm. She looked left and right, she remembered a little about herbs when she had helped the Medicine cat out during her apprentice years. she looked around until she found a green herb. Catmint! She thought. Hazelwing couldn't remember what the herb was used for in her life, but she knew that if you chewed it up with some Juniper berries, it made a really strong smelling solution that could wake up even the sleepiest warrior. She did just that and stuck it under Hawkstorm's nose, waiting patiently for her to just...Wake up...
Dawnstar heard the other pawsteps, her mind was clouded over, and she paid no mind to it now, the only thing she was concerned about was her kits. she knew it was almost over, the pain washed over her and all sound drowned out, a loud roaring filled her ears as she was swept under into a sleep state again, she had lost another life. Dawnstar woke up shortly after, her body ached. She yowled loudly, it was tainted with the sound of pain and tears. She panted, her coat covered in a light sheen of sweat. She gasped for air, and it flooded her lungs. Dawnstar craned her neck over to see her kits, tears flooded her cheeks, only one was mewling. The little Black kit from her dreams. She pulled her one surviving kit to wards her belly, licking the little She-kit's fur gently. She smiled weakly, her voice sounded like it was cracked and broken. "Duskkit"

OOC: Enter my first NPC! Hawkstorm woke with a start. She saw Hazelwing standing there. She struggled to stand, but failed, falling back down again. She gasped and looked around wildly. She glanced at the cat lying beside her and remembered her purpose. "Where's Silvermist?" she asked, her voice rasping hoarsely. She tried to stand, and failed, again. She was becoming dizzy from the effort. Suddenly, a breeze, came out of nowhere. As cold as the moorlands...
***
Thrushflight raised her head, blinking into the wind that had suddenly picked up. She turned to Mosstail, blinking large eyes. She had come to help the medicine cat, but now she worried. She had been a candidate for medicine cat apprentice, and as such, she had an unusually strong connection, if nowhere near as developed as Mosstail. She felt that something was wrong here. "Swiftstar's been acting strange," she confided. "Ever since he woke up. What do I do?" She sat for awhile, awaiting an answer, but then she sighed and heaved herself up. "I'm heading to Thunderclan. I'm worried," she explained to the other she-cat.

OOC: I wonder where Silver has gotten to... I sure do miss having mt deputy around :/ IC: "You've also never fought me," Firestreak retorted slyly, her voice deep and threatening. She was going to do everything in her power to make the leader uncomfortable and wish he'd never come face to face with the most fearsome ShadowClan cat to roam the land in seasons- even if she had to kill herself to do it.
Her claws slid out with a soft scrape, like a sword being drawn from it's sheath. With expert focus, she locked her reddish amber eyes on Swiftstar's throat, watching as each breath moved it forward and back ever so slightly.
She had her mark picked. Eyes twinkling, she began the first step in the torture of WindClan leader.
She took one long and hooked, not to mention bloodstained claw and held it up for him to see. "These are my choice weapons," she told him sincerely. "Each and every one is like a friend to me. We are... attached, in a sense." She flashed a lopsided grin. "Now, would you like to see what I plan to do with these marvelous little friends of mine once we engage in combat?"
///
Scarletpaw knew that she had cats fussing over her; she knew one had dropped to the ground from exhaustion; and she knew that if something didn't happen soon, she would die.
The idea of death was actually comforting to the apprentice. It would end her pain for good, and she would not have to live with a bum-leg like she would if she were to live. She would also be able to watch over her friends and family from up in the stars, which was also something that appealed to her.
The only thing that caused her a sharp pang was the thought of going without speaking to her loved ones until such time as they joined her in StarClan. Scarletpaw wasn't sure she was ready to endure that yet. She was torn, stuck between a rock (or perhaps a tree would be better suited to this situation?) and death.
There is always talk of life and death decisions. But for the most part, they involve making choices to determine if somebody else will live, or perhaps making the right plan will be the saviour of yourself and others. However, not often does anybody speak of the decisions in which you choose whether you live or die. That was what Scarletpaw went through then. Should I stay, and retire to the elders den before I even become a warrior? Or should I ask for death, to end my suffering and relieve the burden of a broken cat?

(( Sorry guys! Busy month Dx Daddy got back from the hospital after having his stroke, and then my mom got sick and she's in the hospital... since my dad's legally blind, I've been taking care of he my sister and I. Things have settled down a bit though! But I've missed... a lot. I know Silver was needed quite some time ago... sorry about that. Where should Foxfang help out? ))
Silvermist turned toward the cat that shouted her name, it was Swiftpaw, and there was a wounded cat that was definently in need of some attention. The medicine-cat stood beside Hawkstorm, herbs in her mouth to treat the now unconscious cat. There was so much going on, so many cats would need her care. For a fleeting moment she hoped that Waterlily would turn up, but she had already restocked her dens, now it was up to the silver tabby to do what she had trained to do all of her life to this point. Thistledown, you lucky mousebrain, never lived a day of your life within a war. She thought silently, tuning out the sounds of battle behind her. Once she got herself to her thoughts, it was much easier to concentrate.
-----------------------
Sootpaw shivered, battle was something that the little kitten had seen almost nothing of. It was horrible, nothing like the other kits and apprentences had imagined it like back at home. It didn't give him a rush, but only filled him with dread. This wasn't something cool, it was horrible! The black and brown cat rushed forward, but was noticebaly slower than he was a few days ago when he was running with his mentor. Speaking of his mentor... "Swiftstar!" He said, seeing his leader trapped by a she-cat who he had never seen before. But it didn't matter, she was the enemy.
The apprentice wished that the magical voice that talked to him every so often would give hi a burst of strength, a surge of speed, anything for him to help Swiftstar out; but no matter how hard he wished, he was still the same little apprentice that looked more like a kit than anything else. He couldn't help... ... but maybe... Sootpaw lunged, like he had in his training session with Swiftstar earlier, hopefully this would work outside of training as well!

Even before it happened, Firestreak knew what was coming. She may have been a mindless brute, but in battle, it was as though she was a brilliant genius. She was focused and attentive, an unusual thing for her.
However, it worked.
As the little apprentice flung himself at her, Firestreak laughed, her eyes tearing up. "Don't even try it, kit," she growled, knocking him out of the air with an easy swipe of her paw. She walked confidently over to where he had landed, her eyes bloodshot and menacing.
"Now, how about you be a good little kit and stay here while your precious leader dies?" She glanced out of the corner of her eye at Swiftstar. It seemed that if she got to close, he would surely pounce. Her eyes darkened at the prospect. She'd rather have the first hit, but whatever was going to happen would happen.
Suddenly, an idea sprang to life in Firestreak's twisted mind. She dropped a heavy paw onto little Sootpaw's chest, claws unsheathed and ready. "Go ahead, Swiftstar," she taunted. "But if you come too close, your pathetic excuse for an apprentice here will lose his only life, and you'll have to watch helplessly." She smirked, knowing that she must have hit a soft spot on the old leader.
There was no way in the Dark Forest she would ever lose this battle.
Firestreak kept her eyes focused on Swiftstar. The apprentice under her had no chance of defying her undeniable strength, so she figured that the leader was the best target to keep her cold eyes fixed on. OOC: She's forgetting that Pebbleheart rests inside of this young one That oughta give her a jolt when the ancient red-eyed cat screeches at her!
