Thick creamy fur standing on end, brown eyes shining with anticipation, Whiterose let out a low growl. ShadowClan must have been at the border; the usually calm and gentle she-cat could scent their foul odor from there. Her eyes flashed warily as she flattened herself to the ground, still behind her hiding spot that was composed only of a bush. She watched, and she waited.
Soon they will come, and soon I can claw off their pelts! she told herself, claws unsheathed and digging into the soft soil beneath her. Anger welled up inside the small she-cat as she recalled the threats ShadowClan's wicked leader Eaglestar had growled at the Gathering. It seemed so long ago, yet also as if it was just yesterday. So much had happened, yet every memory, every image of the scene, was so vivid and fresh in her mind.
She could still see the evil look in that tom's eyes as he had spoken, every miniscule detail etched into her mind like how she had left her mark on many cats in past battles. The thoughts were so painful. She shook her head, and a tear welled up in her eye. Why was life so cruel at the worst possible times? StarClan, why is this happening? Whiterose looked up to the clouded blue sky, wanting to wail like a kit. But she knew whe could not. For if she did, then she would be no better than a rogue.

Hazelwing flattened herself against the bark of an elderly oak tree, her pelt perfectly disguised with it's greeny brown leaves. Her fur began to stand on end as she scented Shadowclan's foul smell, and yet there was something she could not place. The scent of a rouge perhaps?. "Oh, If there are rouges helping them then we're done for!" Hazelwing murmured, trying to whisper to Whiterose down below. Carefully, so not to disturb the already swaying leaves, she moved into a hunting crouch. Claws unsheathed, She watched the ground below. Then she heard startled birds take flight, chirping excitedly. Hazelwing growled sharply, then shut up, she settled down again and waited/

Whiterose noticed her friends uneasiness, and so as to comfort her she bolted up the tree, fast as possible. It was probably impossible to see her among the rustling leaves, with the brown parts of her pelt helping her to blend with the natural colours of the tree. She softly laid her tail across Hazelwing's back, murmuring the whole time about how they would not be beaten, about how ShadowClan would pay for their treachery.
"Hazelwing," she said suddenly, turning her head to the side to look at the other she-cat. "Are you in good enough shape to fight?" It was her glistening eyes and wry smile that would help to tip off Hazelwing that Whiterose was itching to kill. If she can fight, then she can injure. And if she can injure... Then she can help me kill off those mangy flea-bitten excuses for cats! Yeah, the thought of battle was already getting to Whiterose. Can you tell?

Hazelwing nodded vigerously and a wicked smile stretched it's way across her beautiful face. " But are you ready Whiterose?" Hazelwing hissed, though she was quite a docile cat, she's really the kind of cat that you dont want to get on her BAD side. Hazelwing suddenly noticed a dark pelt swaying with the bush, was that Nightheart? perhaps it was, but she didn't see his handsom spots. "Nightheart!" Hazelwing hissed, hoping to catch his attention.

Whiterose nodded. "And StarClan knows it." With that she crawled back down the tree, defying gravity for a few seconds as she dug her claws into the tree to just hang there. I wonder what it's like to be a bird? she thought suddenly, the flight of a dove catching her eye. She blinked, clearing her thoughts. It would probably suck- I'd be eaten by Hazelwing no doubt!
Returning to her starting position, Whiterose crouched again. She too saw the flash of a dark pelt, and her friend's hiss let her know she had back up. The beautiful ragdoll she-cat crept out from her bush, hiding behind a clump of undergrowth. The pelt of the intruder was visible to her. In a heartbeat she managed to spring, landing atop the other cat's back, her claws digging in a bit. "What are you doing here?" she hissed, not even sure of who it was yet.

Flintclaw's golden brown eyes flashed from where he crouched, completely still as he watched the birds. Someone must be close, or else the birds wouldn't be sounding their warnings. His grey fur blended him almost perfectly into the shadows as he waited patiently. He seethed at the thought of ShadowClan believing that they could destroy ThunderClan. At least while he was still alive they wouldn't. ShadowClan was mousebrained to think they would go down easily.
His haunches rose slightly and he pressed his ears against his head as he went on alert at a scent that he could not yet recognise. He quickly lept over to where Whiterose had jumped on the other cat, carefull to scan the surroundings to make sure it was not some kind of trap.

"Ow, Whiterose get off me!" Eaglefeather hissed at her, trying not to be angry with her. She was only trying to protect hjer clan and he had startled them all. Eaglefeather looked up at Whiterose with pain in his amber eyes. "Please?" he mewed quietly, almost like a kit, not wanting the she-cat's claws to dig in any deeper.

Whiterose looked down, shocked that it was Eaglefeather. She bounced off of him, then in the same instant cuffed his ear. "Why were you lurking around over there?!" she demanded, her fur still puffed out a bit. "You startled me half to death." she added. Without waiting for his answer the pretty she-cat whipped around, almost flicking the large tom in the face with her tail as she had earlier done to Swiftstar. Whiterose glanced back, her chocolate brown eyes telling the tom to follow her back into their hiding places.
Why is he being such a moron? she wondered. The answer was simple though. He must have been worried sick about his mate, her going into labor, the kits breaking her ribs, and with everything else piled on top of that, the poor cat must have been more depressed than a RiverClan cat with no where to swim. Whiterose shook her head, pitying the big fellow. She shot him an apologetic look for being so snappy with him before turning her attention back to the forest. ShadowClan would surely be there soon.
